Winifred Wilson Streeter Abel peacefully passed away January 3, 2017 at Mira Loma Group Care Home in Reno, NV following a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born March 26th, 1927 in Steamboat Springs, CO. She graduated from Sparks High School in 1945. Winnie married Richard (Dick) Streeter and they had a son, Michael, and daughter, Katie. Winnie was a feisty red-headed beauty, she brought joy into the lives of everyone dear to her. She had the bluest eyes and a smile that captivated everyone. She had an infectious passion for life and was successful in various occupations during her life. She was employed in the casino industry for Harold's Club and the Nugget in their heydays. She was a favorite Eve Lynn Model, modeling for many local clothing outlets including Gazins and Grey Reid's. Winnie was a respected real estate agent in Incline at Tahoe during its booming development. Dick and Winnie divorced after their children were raised, and Winnie later married Jess Abel, and were married until his death. As a widow, she occupied her time as a friendly clerk at Hallmark in Shopper's Square. She was predeceased by her father Daniel Wilson, her mother Bertha Nevin, stepfather C.A. "Red" Nevin, her son Michael Streeter, sisters Dorothy Hendricks and Betty Cunneen, and her brother William Duncan. She is survived by her loving daughter Katie Streeter Ritter, grandchildren George, Tyler, and Kelly, sisters Juanita (Ernie) Givani, Lisa Polydoros, brother Fred (Voncele) Hale, brother in law Pat Cunneen, and numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. Winnie was fun and full of life and will long be remembered and loved. The family would like to thank the gentle caregivers Gary Fink and Liz, and St. Mary's Hospice in the comfort of Mira Loma Group Care Home until her final days.
