Arleen was born in Bakersfield, California on March 23, 1958. Her family moved to the Los Angeles area three years later when her Dad started a new career as an appliance salesman to contractors building housing tracts. Her parents were divorced several years later and she lived with her Mother until her early teens. At that time she moved in with her Dad’s blended family until she was 17 and then relocated to be with her Mother until she reached adulthood.

Arleen faced many difficulties growing up and in her early years as a mother, but always faced those difficulties with determination and a solid faith in Jesus as her Lord. She married James Smith and had two beautiful children. Their marriage ended in divorce. After a period of time as a single mother, her life and family were joyfully expanded the day she met Jim Stuart and their marriage was one of the great blessings in her life. With Jim’s encouragement, she pursued her love of art and music, painting and serving on the worship team at her church. She loved her kids and worked hard to raise them positively while also making a great life with Jim. She loved the outdoors, cruising in their El Camino, music, and lived a life filled with joy. She always felt blessed by her Church family who cared for her practically and with the love of Christ after Jim’s passing.

Arleen passed away on March 3, 2026 and is now in the presence of Jesus and reunited with Jim, no more pain and in fullness of joy. She is survived by her son Phillip Stuart of Denver, Colorado and daughter Heather Norton of Newport News, Virginia and her four grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, Roy Koenig of Laguna Beach, California; brother Dean Koenig of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; and step sisters Crystal Seymour of Pasadena, California and Kelly DeGhetto of Mission Viejo, California.

Nancy Evans, age 86, passed away gracefully on February 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. Known for her easygoing disposition, positive attitude, and gentle spirit, Nancy brought warmth and light into every room she entered. She experienced joy until her final days, a testament to the grateful and generous heart with which she lived her life.

Nancy’s greatest pride and accomplishment was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother to Joe, Patty, Cathy, and Mike. Her role as “Grandma” brought her immeasurable happiness as she cherished Joey, Jessika, Jake, and Josh. In recent years, she delighted in becoming a great-grandmother to Sirius and Bella, embracing each new generation with the same tenderness and devotion that defined her life.

Nancy grew up in a lively household alongside six sisters and one brother—Rosalie, Larry, Bobbie, JoAnn, Billie, Mary Ann, and Susy—forming lifelong bonds that shaped her deep appreciation for family. When she married her beloved husband, Joe, she also gained a cherished sister-in-law, Susan, further expanding the circle of love that surrounded her life. Over the years, Nancy warmly welcomed many beloved members into the family, including Jodi (married to Joe), Todd (married to Patty), Chrissy (partner of Mike), and Bob (married to Susan).

As the spouse of a physician, Nancy was deeply involved in the American Medical Association Auxiliary, an organization close to her heart. She proudly served as President of the State of Nevada and later as Vice President at the national level. In this role, she enjoyed traveling to Chicago on many occasions to serve and support the organization’s mission, forming lasting friendships and making meaningful contributions along the way.

Among Nancy’s favorite pastimes were afternoons of needlework with dear friends, where conversation and creativity intertwined. She also greatly enjoyed her bridge club, treasuring the camaraderie, friendly competition, and laughter shared around the card table. For more than forty summers, Nancy delighted in fun- and adventure-filled days at Lake Almanor in California with cherished friends and family—gathered around the campfire, at the picnic table, on the beach, and out on the lake. She thrilled in traveling the world, exploring new places and cultures.

Though her family mourns her passing, they are comforted by the knowledge that she lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, friendship, and laughter. Her kindness, warmth, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Nancy Evans will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
